Kickball for All raised well over a thousand dollars in support of our tutorial programs, paying for crucial elements that revenue from schools cannot completely cover. Of equal importance, it brought together the Tutors for All community. “It was nice to meet all the people who help make this program possible, in a relaxed setting”, MIT student Raymundo Hernandez, a tutor at both Prospect Hill Academy and MGH.
At the end of the day, Chefs Collaborative took home the trophy in a hard-fought final against First Church Cambridge. The taste of victory was sweet: “like when one of your students passes a test with flying colors”, said team captain Jen Ede. At the same time, Jen did not let the success go to her head, “It was all for a great cause and not your typical fundraiser event. It was fun. How often can you play something you played in fifth grade for charity?”
